Yes No. Sorry this didn't help. Thanks for your feedback. I'm pretty sure it originally had Windows Vista, then I upgraded to Windows 7, then Windows 10 about a year ago. So when you say was it a "fresh install" I guess it wasn't, because I was always upgrading from a previous version of Windows. And frankly it's too long ago for me to remember with precision what happened with the updates, but I don't remember ever having any issues with my email during the upgrades, or having to change anything with Outlook Express. The error message i kept getting the last two days prior to re-installing Win 10 definitely said "Outlook Express cannot be opened," it never mentioned anything about Windows Live Mail. so again it said Outlook and not Windows Live Mail. so yes I think I was still running Outlook Express, at least as of 2 days ago. I did find a partial workaround- I was able to download OE Classic 3.

com account, and most of my old emails did load- though not formatted as I would wish, and it looks like I no longer have my groups or address book settings. So I would still love to restore things to the way they were 2 days ago, but after re-installing my Win 10 perhaps that not an option anymore. I'd love any guidance you could give, thanks. I did a re-install of my Windows Perhaps I shouldn't have done this, as now my Outlook Express is completely gone. And I understand Microsoft no longer supports or updates Outlook Express. I can still get my current emails to my phone, and to my Webmail account through Spectrum. I'm a computer novice and obviously the email account still "works," as I continue to receive new emails both on my phone, and on the Spectrum Webmail service. Unfortunately System Restore is not an option, when I first installed Windows 10 about a year ago, looks like I never established a restore point.

You will also need to determine which version of the Outlook desktop program you have been using and re-install it. Depending on how old it is, you will probably need to have the install media and product key for it since old versions can no longer be downloaded.
