You can see it is stuck on "Downloading metadata", for a lot of time. Other torrent clients work on the same torrents. Outbound connection rules in Windows Firewall seem ok, but to be sure I tried to disable the fw completely. It didn't solve. What could be the problem here? Worked fine a few days ago, but started acting up yesterday. I have port range forwarded or I think so But in the past I didnt have any port forwarded and it worked fine. Also, I was testing with other torrent clients and It still happens, what else could be the problem? And thank you for the help, I have like half day on this and still doesn't work. I really don't know if they support IPV6, my router does. Also I switched to and still nothing :S. update: They don't support it. Could it be your firewall? And if you have forwarded ports from your router switch to that. Then I assume it is a networking issue on your part. I cannot help you more.
You could try our forums for networking troubleshooting. Have the same issue. Changing listening port doesn't resolve it. Even if I restart qbittorrent the torrent is still stuck on downloading metadata. I have had this same issue for probably over a year. I am not sure what information I could provide to you that may be helpful. If you let me know what to send you I would be more than happy to. My current solution is a small service application I wrote to restart qbittorent every 30 mins or so. Very lame. oonqt This issue is so old that whatever the original OP was experiencing was most likely fixed, and yours is likely due to something different.

You posted your thread in the "Site Issues" forum. However, the functionality of magnet links has nothing to do with TPB, or any site for that matter. This is a more appropriate forum for this discussion. Your problem could be that the swarm is small and you can't connect to a peer that supports the metadata transfer protocol. Could be a configuration error on your end. For example, magnet links from TPB only include UDP trackers, so the ability to make UDP connections is required. Not to mention it is also required for DHT to work Or maybe it is a bug with uTorrent itself. I think it happens with older torrents more often that with newer ones. Twice or three times I tried Get Torrent File like suggested by SectorVector and it worked but not sure if it happened by chance. Anyway, if this happens again I would like to give you the link just to see if you get the same message or not. Thanks Functionally there is NO difference between the magnet link and the "get torrent file" link.
One gets the torrent metadata from the swarm, the other comes in a file. The latter will always work, when it is available. It is available for smaller swarm because sometimes it is difficult to connect to a peer that can reliably deliver the metadata. Wow hey, sorry but that's like rocket science to me I'm a total noob in networking stuff. The short short version is that it doesn't matter which link you click - the end result is the same. If the "GET TORRENT FILE" link is available, try that first. It will always work - so long as the torrent file server is available, and torrent file downloads aren't blocked. The "GET THIS TORRENT" link can't be offline though proxies can mangle it , and should almost always work for larger swarms when the "GET TORRENT FILE" link is not there.
Even for smaller swarms it should still work, but it may take a little longer to connect to a peer that can and will share the metadata. Thanks for your help, that's nice of you to take the time. In my case, it won't close properly either, so I force kill it. I just got this problem again, and i notice this warning at the bottom of the window. win 10 home 64 latest vers really hope at QBittorrent take care of us and fix this very frustrating BUG. Your speed can vary a lot based on the quality of torrent files and your internet connection. What is your version? Rarely, invitations will be just thrown out there for a limited time. Torrenting itself is not illegal, but downloading copyrighted content is.
